Whales Tooth - Australian Golf Club vs Bowral Golf Club
Unusally, the Bowral team won convincingly with 321 aggregate stableford points to 282. Well done to Ellen Neale and Carole Bynes with their great round of 47 4BBB points and running up with 43 David Ferguson and John Mulholland. BGC has won this event 3 times since 2006, hence it was unusual.
White Horse Cup... update
Team Bowral 1
Yesterday, Bowral 1 need to have a "big win" to get to the top of their division and get to the semi-finals. We needed to win 5 of the 7 matches. A big ask as we were playing Jamberoo at Jamberoo GC. They are a hard team to beat at any course, but on their home grounds!
Well, we dug down and beat them 6 matches to 1. End result we are top of the division and into the semis in two weeks time. Great result for the men and women. Well done. The standout performer was Julia Skamperle, with a HCP of 13 had to give 9 shots and still won 2 /1. See the results below...
The semi finals are in two weeks time, not sure who we play and where but I'll give you an update next week.
A great start to the season, with a great team spirit, but struck some "Headwinds" and "Rocky Scholes" and finished down the ladder. The final results are not available at the moment. Better luck next year.
Course Update...
Tree trimming on the 17th and 8th holes has been carried out over the last two weeks; as well a stump grinding. We will progressively trim the tree lines which are impacting the game over the next few months.
The stump grinding has removed over 60 stumps so far and a few more to go. In addition, Ash (the stump grinder) is removing surface tree roots which are a potential hazard to golfers and definitely a hazard to our mower blades.
