PictureBob Young 2018 Veterans Plate Winner
The Veterans Plate was donated by the Board in 1994. to encourage older members to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Club championships. To qualify the member must be over 65 and is presented to the player with the lowest net score over the 36 holes of the qualifying rounds.
This years winner with rounds of net 68 and net 71  - net 139  is  past  President Bob Young just edging out runner up Tony Rourke net 71 and net 69 - net 140.
Both players qualifying for the match play rounds of the Club championships, Bob in "C" grade and Tony moved up to "A" grade. Well done and good luck.

PictureLady Captain v Mens Captain Trophy
The last Trophy inaugurated in the 1990s and the last for the first Century.
An annual event first played for in 1999 the Captain v Captain is a keenly fought popular social event followed by a presentation and lunch. This year the it coincides with one of our Sunday Roasts to add to the occasion. If you haven't booked to
play there is still time. The event is a 12 hole stableford shotgun start a 9.30am. Bookings must be made through the pro shop and to stay for the Roast book through the clubhouse. The ladies are the current holders and the men are keen to regain the Trophy - its a very pleasant day where all members can play together.  Book now and join the fun, the only event where ladies and men compete against  each other in competition.

Three photos taken during our most welcome spell of rainy weather.
A game of golf may not be inviting in the rain but our first class clubhouse facilities are always there for your convenience no matter the weather conditions.

PictureDining Room / Coffee Lounge

Tim and his crew make a mean cup of coffee or tea, as good as anywhere in the Highlands and I challenge you to show me a view better than this from any of the local establishments. Our kitchen is open from Wednesday to Saturday where Regina our renowned chef and her team produce gourmet meals and delicious cakes and pastries. Light meals are available on the other days.
All this in the middle of Bowral and where parking is not a problem!  What better way to introduce friends and visitors to your club and for them to experience what we have to offer.
First and foremost we are a Golf Club but we can be so much more.
It's your club!

12th Hole Renovation - Tee Signs -  Bore Pump - Coming Events - Conditions of Play.

5/10/2018

12th HOLE RENOVATION The renovation of the 12th hole is progressing, the irrigation has been extended to the tee and seeding the area will commence as soon the power has been attached to the satellite station and the trenches filled in. The aim is to have the renovated hole back in play in approximately eight weeks, depending on weather conditions. This work is being carried out predominately by our own ground staff. Your appreciation of their efforts to have this work completed with a minimum inconvenience to all members is appreciated. The temporary tee will remain in play until the renovated hole is complete.

NEW TEE SIGNS.
I wonder how many of our golfers have noticed the new tee signs on each hole. They have all been updated and where applicable penalty area (as they will be called from 1st January 2019) carry distances are shown. This is an initiative from your board's program of course improvement for the benefit for members and visitors alike.

BORE PUMP
Our bore pump has been replaced and is back in operation. There have to be some adjustments made to determine the optimal depth of the pump for the flow required to  satisfy our requirements. This will take time however we have sufficient supply to keep the course at the level of excellence we enjoy.

CHANGES TO CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP CONDITIONS OF PLAY

These changes apply to the D R Douglas Trophy only.
Quarter Final - 18 holes (prev. 36 holes)
Semi-Final - 18 holes (prev 36 holes)
Final - 36 holes (no change)

The rationale behind these changes is designed to open up the "A" grade to members whose handicaps qualify them for this trophy  but may be unable to commit to playing 36 holes twice as a lead up to the final for reasons of family, employment or health. The final which is due to be played on a Sunday will still be contested over 36 holes.
We hope this will attract more players to compete in this handicap bracket and result in greater competition for the ultimate prize of Club Champion.
