| Over the last two Sunday’s twenty one teams of men and women competed for the Mixed Foursomes Championship and the Wotton Trophy (best nett score). Congratulations to David Ferguson and Virginia Wozniak winning the championship with rounds of 81 and 77 totalling 158. David and Virginia also won the Wotton Trophy with a combined nett score of 140. Well done to all teams and it was great to see our members room full to overflowing on both Sunday’s. Today, Monday 19th, the tree trimmers were back with the 10th hole getting some long needed attention. Looking from the tenth tee, the right side has been cleared of overhanging branches and dangerous trees removed. The white ant damage to two of the trees was so severe that less than 10mm thickness of tree trunk was remaining. The tree on the left at the start of the fairway have also been trimmed. Most significantly, the pines (left side opposite the 100m marker) have been trimmed and look completely different. One of the large pines had to be removed due to the top section being rotten. The left gum tree on the right side was trimmed as well. See the photos below of the new look...

Mixed Foursomes Championship & Wotton Trophy Yesterday, Sunday, was the first round of the Mixed Foursomes Championship with 20 teams competing. A great day, albeit, quite chilly during the last few holes. It was great to see the clubhouse full and the open fire roaring to warm everyone up. The front runners, so far, with good rounds are, Darryl Purchase & Susan Harrison; David Ferguson & Virginia Wozniak and Wayne Knapp & Michelle Alcock. Good luck to all in the final round next Sunday. Oxley Plate. - Mixed 4BBB vs Moss Vale GC at Moss Vale - Sunday 9th July.

Coming up...Next Saturday - the Warwick Armstrong Trophy - Stableford
This trophy is somewhat timely following Australia's cricket team win over India. Warwick was a former BGC member as well as representing Australia as a batsman between 1902 and 1921 and Captained the side on ten occassions. Next Sunday - Mixed Foursomes Championship & Wotton Trophy - round 1 This is over two consecutive Sundays. The second round will be a seeded draw. Remember - Men play off the Blues and Women play off the Reds. July 9th - Oxley Plate This is a mixed 4BBB comp where BGC takes on Moss Vale GC. This year it's held at Moss Vale. Dave Burgess Congratulations to Alan Weston with his hole-in-one on the 14th hole last Wednesday. A great achievement and may there be many more to come. It's been a couple of year since the last hole-in-one so it's good to see another name going on the board.
