Course Works update...

13/9/2022

Over the last few weeks we have had the opportunity to improve the course drainage especially on the 2nd and 3rd holes.  This is proving to assist in drying out the fairways and rough enough to allow the mowers to get where they have not been in over six months.  In addition the following is the maintenance work completed to date:
  • 1st hole: boundary drain on the left side of the, drain at the start of the fairway, drain to the right side of the poplars and  right side of the bridge green side.
  • Drains on the left side 4th hole - also extended the high side drain to capture more surface water.
  • Swale drains installed to the right side of the pond on the second hole.
  • A section of the drain on the right side of 16th hole.
  • 13th hole drain on the right side.
  • Drain which runs from the 13th hole through to the 14th hole - swale section added to drain the large wet area on the right side of 14th fairway.
  • 17th hole Link’s Road drain (150 marker to green)
  • 18th hole right side drain.
Below are some photos of the work completed on the first hole.

I hope you can organise a team.  Please contact Sharon Eskell at office@popin.org.au or ring John Hopkins (BGC member) on 0401695769.

We also need a volunteer or two as scrutineers on the hole in one and a roving official to sort out any on course issues.
When: Sunday October 2nd 2022 – shotgun start at 10am.
What: Four-ball Ambrose.
Where: Bowral Golf Club.
Events: Prizes include a Hole in One new car, longest drive, nearest to pin, longest putt, straightest drive.
After: Prize giving and sausage sizzle at Bowral Golf Club from 2pm.

Cost: $125pp tax deductible donation.  This covers a green fees, sausage sizzle, the chance to win a new car and other prizes, and a donation to Pop In.

Pop In does not receive any Government funding and relies on the local community.  Please feel free to ask your family and friends to sponsor you and contribute to or add to your $125 donation. Your kindness and support can make a big difference to someone’s life.
