As all members are aware, membership fees are due and payable by 30/06/16. Although some leniency is allowed, those members who are not financial after the 1st July 2016, may enter a competition however, will not be eligible to win a prize. Please assist by paying your membership dues as soon as possible. Flexible payment options are available from the office.
With the coming of winter, we regularly have several severe frosts. Frosts occur when atmospheric conditions cause grass to become colder than the surrounding air. When lawn is frosted the grass blades are literally frozen. Any activity on the grass such as walking or mowing before it thaws, will break the grass blade and damage the greens or fairways. They will recover in time however this may be delayed until spring when the growing season recommences. In order to preserve our excellent fairways and greens a sensible approach will be adopted to slightly delay early hit off's and to keep all buggies and carts off frost effected areas. Members consideration would be most helpful.
Most members would now be aware the Captain's Dinner is to be held at the club on Saturday 23rd July 2016. It is a black tie event and is open to all members and their guests. This year will be an opportunity to taste the delights of our new chef, Alex and her staff. Although I will do a ring around over the next few days to enlist support, we plan to have a new members table available for any new members wishing to join us on this auspicious occasion. You will be made felt most welcome. If you would like to attend, please ring the club nominating for the new members table. Cost will be $65.00 per person payable prior to the event. Any members not already committed to the event and who would like to attend can ring me on 0408 336644 and I will arrange a suitable table for you to join.
