Cancer Council Charity Golf Day - The Longest Day

Picture
On Monday around twenty players took part in the Longest Day - a 72 hole challenge. Our teams playing at Bowral raised over $30,000 dollars - a fantastic effort.
A perfect day for the event, early morning start around 6am and late afternoon finish at 3.45pm.  Most of the crew walked the 72 holes getting eagles and birdies on the way.

Upcoming Events...

With the run up to Christmas and New Year well upon us and the recent weather there has been some rescheduling of events:
The Ted Box Medal of Medals - this has been moved to the January Monthly Medal to enable the maximum number of contenders to take part.
The Oxley Plate 2021 will not be on at Moss Vale this Sunday, it is too busy a time to get enough players.
The St Andrews Day event will be on this Saturday - the terms of competition is on the notice board for you to read.

Enjoy the sunshine.

Welcome Summer - bit cold however...

Governors Legacy Golf Day
We need a final fourth player for the Governor's Legacy Golf Trophy - Friday the 17th December - early tee start 7:45am at Muirfield Golf Club, North Rocks. A great opportunity to represent your club and what a win it would be.  Great opportunity for our Sydney based members.
Let me know if your interested - send me an email - BGC Captain

Cancer Council Charity - Longest Day - 72 holes of golf
Next Monday (13th) we have a number of hardy golfers taking up the challenge.  You don't need to play the 72 holes but I know some will. It's a great cause and has been held at BGC for a few years now and is growing in numbers. If you would like to make a donation please click - here. Or to arrange to make your donation via EFT or bank transfer please contact Cancer Council at longestday@nswcc.org.au

Course Update...

With the course closed for a few days and limited ability to cut the grass, we took the opportunity to work on a couple of improvements.  With the fantastic assistance of Dad's Army; Matt's team were able to continue the improvements to the area between the 8th Green and the 9th tee box and improve the security of the course with the installation of some gates.  Further fencing will be put in as time permits. Click on the photos below to get more detail.

New Rough Mover
With our ageing 72inch Toro machine on its last legs and desperately needing retirement we have been scouring the country for a replacement, they are hard to find in any Brand at the moment.  Fortunately a replacement has been found in Goulburn, it is a 96inch machine which will dramatically improve the productivity in mowing the rough.  Thanks to the Board for their speedy approval as this is the last one left in the country.  You should see it on the course in the next couple of days, bright red and shiny.
