Club Championships All of the semi finals have been completed and we are heading into the Finals next Sunday the 19th of November. The Club Championship is over 36 holes and starts 7:42 am. The second round along with the B Grade and C Grade starts at 12:15pm. The finalists are: D R Hill-Douglas Trophy Club Champion - Rory Blatch and Justin Smith Prosper Ellis Plate B Grade - John Ferguson and John Houston Hastings Clark Cup C Grade - David McGinnnes and Robert Eriksson A presentation will take place, in the Club House, after the matches are concluded. All members are welcome to follow the matches and join us after at the club house for a welcome drink and refreshments during the Presentation. Saturday's Results November Monthly Medal and Remembrance Day Shield Congratulations go to Andrew Tomkins with a nett 66 to win the Remembrance Day Shield. A great shot on the 14th hole secured a birdie plus the Pro-Pin. Saturday November 18th Legacy Golf and Dinner Legacy is our clubs charity and we have supported legacy for many, many years. The Legacy golf day is a great social day with golf competitions and novelty prizes for both men and women. A refreshment tent (Mash 2576) will serve complimentary food and drink on the course. Donations to Legacy will be gratefully received and raffle tickets will be available at the tent. The dinner will be a great evening with a very special guest speaker, Dr Adrian d’Hagé, Soldier, Scientist, Author and Theologian, and no stranger to adventure. The booking cut off date for the dinner is one week prior, being Saturday 11th November. Please don’t hesitate to contact Kevin Kenny for further details and making a booking. Recent Results... Last Saturday was the The Dalton Lamb Trophy. Paul Dalton and family and friends joined us for the round and fortunately the rain held off and everyone enjoyed the course. The winner of the Dalton Lamb trophy was Dennis Neale with 38 points on a count back from Matthew Cleary. The Legends Tour - Moss Vale Golf Club Yesterday Moss Vale GC hosted the Legends Golf Tour and had over 180 starters in the Pro Am both men and women. It was a great day and we hosted. Our club was well represented with Kevin and Darryl plus a good number of our members. Congratulations to Howard McMillan and the Moss Vale team. Club Championship Presentations The finals of the Club Championships will be held on Sunday 19th of November. The trophy presentation will be held at the club house once the rounds have been completed.. around 5:00pm. Other Trophies will also be presented, Lifestyle Cup, Bradford (Junior) Trophy, Veterans Trophy, Country Cup and the Watson Trophy. Please come along and celebrate our champions for 2023. We nearly won it last year so let's have another good go... The Expressions of Interest Sheet will be on the notice board tomorrow. We already have quite a lot of interest from former seasoned "warriors" but this competition is open to all our members who have a current GA handicap. It is a very inclusive pennants competition and is leading the state in this regard. If you are interested put your name down so we can get the best teams possible to bring the Cup to Bowral for the first time ever. The competition is played on Sundays from late January to March 2024. Saturday 4th November - The Dalton Lamb Memorial Trophy HISTORY Originally the Redmond Dalton Memorial Trophy , this trophy is now the Dalton Lamb Memorial Trophy to remember both, Redmond Dalton and Brian Lamb, long term members who were very good friends. The Redmond Dalton Memorial Trophy commenced in 1982 as a donation by the Dalton family. In 2023 the Dalton family and the BGC Board agreed to alter the name of the trophy in order to remember our past Patron, President and Captain Brian Lamb. ELIGIBILITY The Dalton Lamb Memorial Trophy, a single stableford, is open to all Full playing Members, Life Members, City Members, Visiting Members, Junior and Sub Junior Members of Bowral Golf Club and members of the Dalton and Lamb families who hold a current GA handicap.
