Club Championships... round 1 complete...

Course Update...

Note: "Play as it lies" has replaced the "Preferred Lies" as of last Saturday.  It's great to get the course back to normal after this tough year.

Matt's team and Dad's Army turfed the "old water feature" left side of the 3rd green and the 16th fairway area last Thursday.  These areas will be top dressed to complete the work in the near future. See photos below...  These areas are GUR.

For a number of months we have been keen to remove some dead pine trees from the course due to the safety concerns. The original plan was to have tree loppers come and remove them but the wet conditions and availability of the contractors has "pushed" us to use another solution.  Over the last couple of days we have had a large excavator pushing these trees over as well as clearing out the piles of dirt between the 3rd and 4th holes.  Additional dying pine trees have been removed as well.  These trees will be cut up and removed over the next few weeks.  Consider these areas as GUR.  See photos below of some of the tees...

Club Championships - Round 1

All of round one matches were completed by Sunday the 4th December.  The results are posted on the Mi Club home page  - a the bottom of the page under the title Matchplay... see below for directions. Click to enlarge.

Next Sunday, 11th December is the dead line for the semi-finals.

The finals are on Sunday the 18th of December.

Recent Results...

Wednesday  - 3 Ball Multiplier - best 2 scores
A good Wednesday field of 63 players competed in the multiplier event.  The winners with 108 points were David McGinnes, Dennis Cooper & Ken Dobie with the runners up Wayne Meadth, Peter Cottee & David Burgess with 107.  Patrick Lane was the individual winner with 43 points.
Tony Hobson won the 11th hole NTP; Wayne Meadth won the 6th hole Eagles Nest & Simon Kemp won the 14th Pro-Pin - how that was not a hole-in-one ???

Friday - Nugget Nine Medley

Phil Jeffery won with 22 points & Chris Hill was runner up with 18 points on a count back.

Saturday - Monthly Medal & "Thank you Day"

Thank you to all our members who have had to put up with an unprecedented year of wet course conditions which limited access to the course for much of the year.  As a result last Saturday was a "comp fee" free day and special prizes.  A very good field of 107 competitors enjoyed the great golfing conditions.
