Attached is a copy of the direction being placed in the notice board at the pro shop for your information. Due to the unpredictability of lightning strikes it is not possible to fully determine when players and staff are at risk. Accordingly It is the responsibility of all persons using the course to make their own decision when to leave the course during a lightning event. This same procedure has been adopted by many other golf courses in Australia. As the picture shows, a lightning mast can provide a measure of risk reduction for buildings, however, they do not provide a totally safe area for human shelter. All persons on the course should seek shelter inside an enclosed building, without delay, if there is any risk or concerns about approaching storms. |
