Each year we, as a club, have Legacy Day. It is the club's major charity event and has been very well supported by the members over the years. This year it is on November 22nd. David Farthing, is the coordinator for this event organising the speakers, guests of honour, the golf event of the day and if fact the whole event and he is assisted by many. The objective of the day is to raise money for our local Legacy chapter. Legacy provides support for Legatees - they are those wives, husbands and children, who are dependants of service personnel who are no longer with us. Several members of our club are active members of Legacy and visit Legatees in the local area on a weekly basis and are always there for help or assistance. The lady members of BGC have always been great supporters of this event and this year David would like to have a meeting to discuss how it could be planned with everyone in the club involved. The time for the meeting is next Friday at 11.00 am at the club.
David has organised the speaker for the evening - Vice Admiral Russ Crane, AO , CSM ex chief of navy - and once again, our honorary members,Major General
(the Honourable) Michael Jeffery (a previous winner on Legacy Day)and Mrs Marlena Jeffery will be joining us for the day
as they have for many of the last ten years)
The golf on the day will be supported by many volunteers from the local Legacy organisation and the club's Geoffrey Hammond, who with many volunteers and no conscripts, organises the "2576 MASH" tent at the 5th green - free drinks and food at the tent, all donated by supporters including members.
It's our biggest golf day for a great cause
