The course should be set up so that the overall length of the course is within 100 metres of the measured length. Last Wednesday the tees had just been cored so the markers were put at the front of the tees and probably we were outside of the 100 metre rule Jock Rossell 1-03-2104 Last Saturday we had the Jock Rossell Trophy, an Aggregate Par event. An amended result has been determined following concerns. The results will be posted in the results column in the next days. 4th Mar 2014 | J W Draper Foursomes 1-03-2014 Entries close tomorrow the 3rd of March. As per the conditions of competition only paid entries, as at the close of entry date, will be included in the draw.  TROPHY PRESENTATION 1-03-2014 The dinner was well attended with trophy winners and runners up receiving a voucher for complementary food . Photos can be seen by clicking here  OPEN DAYS 1-03-2014 Starting this month we are having an open day on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Members of local golf clubs with a GA handicap would pay just the competition fee to play within our competition field. Spots would be allocated for mixed pairs. The visitors comp would run in parallel with the members comp with separate prizes for visitors. The idea is to show local golfers our club, not only the golf course which receives excellent reports from visitors, but the friendly atmosphere in our club house. The detail of the open days organisation will be finalised this week and the first one is scheduled for the 19th March. We will review how the open days are received after a few months trial.
|  THE EISENHOWER TREE 28th Feb 2014 Dwight Eisenhower was President of the United States from 1953 until 1961 and a member of Augusta for over 20 years. While he was President he campaigned for the tree on the left hand side of the 17th to be removed. It didn't suit his hook. Eisenhower moved a motion to remove the tree. Long time president of the club, Clifford Roberts, adjourned the meeting rather than than offend the US President by rejecting the request. Two weeks ago, during an exceptional ice storm, the Eisenhower tree was badly damaged. The club, after seeking expert opinion, decided to remove it.
