On Sunday the club held this years Christmas Cheer golf game and luncheon. Although numbers were down, it was a great day from the 8.30am shotgun start. Forty four members in teams of four, took the best two stableford points from each hole and when added together, totalled 88 points. Wendy and Bill Pope and Don and Pam Barker won with a lunch out at Centennial Winery and four bottles of French wine as the first prize. Runners up Chris Hill, Anne Vitou, Graham Warner and Jim Phillips who received further bottles of the French nectar. Novelty prizes, including the Scotch from St Andrews Day, were presented to Ellen Neale, Keith Markwell, Anne Vitou Jim Larkin and Annelise King. Lunch was served at 1.00 pm, which was superb as the slide show of pictures will attest. Entree's to start, followed by roast Beef and Lamb, roast vegtables and a variety of salads, bread sticks, cheeses and condiments, with a Pavlova, that Regina just happened to whip up to finish this wonderful meal.Top this with off with music from Bronwyn Kenny and her sidekick, dancing by the few and good all round fun at the tables, it was a day not to be missed. I am sorry if you weren't there, you missed something special. The St. Andrews Day Trophy, which was contested last Saturday week, is a 4BBB event, where the winners each receive a bottle of Scotch Whiskey from four of our very generous Scottish Heritage members. This year the winners of the Scotch and Trophy and were the donors of the prize, Ian McKenzie, Bob Young, Alan Turpie and Alan Lindsay. Being the generous souls they are, they immediately donated the four bottles back to the club to be given away as prizes for the Christmas Cheer function. Well done Gentlemen. |
