Saturday - Captains Trophy
A great field of 94 entries competed for the Captains Trophy.
The winner, in the last group of the day, went to Frank Eggert with a Nett 66 off a handicap of 14.
Runner up was John Hopkins with a Nett 67.  Well done to you both!!
NTP on the 11th went to Martin Flaxman, with the PRO-PIN going to Robeto Ratalino.

Wednesday - Single Stableford - White Course
A good field of 84 golfers for the Wednesday competition.  Taking the win was Dennis Neale with 38 points and running up was David Farthing with 37.
NTP on the 11th was won by Peter Whittall and Rob Humphreys took the PRO-PIN prize.

Friday - Golden Nugget - Yellow Course
Another good field with 26 entries.  James Nethersole took the win with 19 points and David Thurstans running up with 18 points on a count back.

Sunday - Medley Stableford
Winner was Bill Webster with 37 points and Heather Webster runner up with 35.
Monday Madness
Ashley Southon won the day with 34 points and Philip Joshua runner up with 32 on a count back.

Upcoming Events...

Saturday - Monthly Medal and J. MacMaster Memorial Medal
John MacMaster was a committee member in 1985 and 1991 plus he was the Club Handicapper.  This memorial medal was first played in 1997 but the winner of the August medal in 1996 was also added to the silver cup.

J W Draper - the first round was completed yesterday and the second round is to be completed by the 15th of July.

Course Update...

Our small team of greenskeepers are continually working on improvement to our course.  Some of these are small step improvements which take years to bear fruit.  The pictures below (click on them to enlarge the image) show the 2018 condition of the 15th green and todays condition. The winter grass is slowly being removed.  This is also evident on the 4th green.

Dads Army... winning the battle
Our small team of warriors, knuckle down every Thursday morning to work on the club house surrounds and projects on the course.
Last Thursday they attacked the undergrowth between the 8th green and the 9th tee box. About a third of the area is cleared and now lets sunlight and air flow to this formally forgotten area. In time this will be a great garden feature of the course.  
Well done to CO Anton and company.

14th green - turf laying
A huge thanks to all those volunteering your time this Thursday morning to lay the turf on the RHS of the 14th green.
