It is now our custom to present trophies on the day they are won, with the exception of Club Championship trophies. The presentation can however be delayed to a date to ensure the winner can attend the evening Saturday presentation to accept their trophy. Last Saturday weeks presentation culminated in awarding Trophies to three very worthy members. Terry Downing received the J.M. Stanford Trophy for his +2 Par round on 22nd April, Tony Fitzpatrick won the Warwick Armstrong Cup on April 29 and ever persistent Robert Eriksson won the coveted Arthur Brassey Trophy for his performance against Pascal Timores in the Handicap Stroke Match - play final held on 23rd April. Congratulations to all winners on a great result. | |
Our women's representative team have done it again this year, winning back to back, the CSGA Bronze Shield. After a slow start to the season, this group of hardened match play young ladies, put their heads down and forged through each Friday's games in Canberra and surrounding areas to reach the pointy end of the competition. With dogged determination they took on all comers to win the final in Goulburn, beating Belconnen 4 to 1. On behalf of the club I wish to congratulate all the ladies involved and look forward to the return of the Shield to the members room. Well done. I am sure all members will share in your excitement. |
